Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Fire Minister and senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sujit Bose, who was working on ground for migrant workers returning to the state, has tested positive for Novel Coronavirus or Covid-19, media reports said.

His test results have shown mild Covid-19 symptoms.

The contact tracing has already been initiated to stem the spread of Covid-19.

West Bengal on Thursday recorded the biggest rise in Covid cases with the report of new 344 cases and six deaths.

So far in the state, 4,536 people have been infected with the pandemic virus which has no vaccine as of now.

The biggest jump in Covid cases was registered eight days after West Bengal was battered by super cyclone Amphan that led to the violation of social distancing norms in various parts of the state.
