Kolkata/IBNS: Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters were injured as a clash erupted between the activists of BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress (AITC) during a door-to-door campaign organized by the BJP at Barabani's Jamgram area in West Bengal on Saturday morning, reports said.

According to reports, AITC supporters allegedly attacked BJP activists during its "Aar Noy Annay (No more unjust)" campaign at Jamgram village at around 11:30 am. following which workers of both parties engaged in a tussle with each other.

Multiple crude bombs were reportedly hurled during the violence while BJP alleged that few rounds of bullets had also been fired from the AITC side.

Local BJP leaders claimed that at least seven of their supporters had been seriously injured in the clash and hospitalized.

AITC, however, denied its involvement in the incident and called the incident a "group tussle" of BJP.

After the incident, a huge police force rushed to the area to bring the situation under control.
