West Bengal: Udayan Das sent to 8-day police custody
Police on Monday late evening brought the serial killing suspect to Bankura from Chhattisgarh's Raipur.
Few days earlier, a joint team of Bengal Police and Bhopal Police arrested Udayan Das from his residence at Saketnagar area in Madhya Pradesh for killing and entombing his 28-year-old live-in partner from West Bengal's Bankura district, Akansha Sharma, according to reports.
During interrogation, the man confessed that he killed his father and mother at their residence in Raipur's Netaji Nagar in Chhattisgarh and buried their bodies underneath a lawn inside the premise.
Udayan Das was taken to Raipur on Sunday and police recovered the remains of his parent's bodies, after digging the lawn.
As Udayan Das came to his girlfriend's residence in Bankura last year and stayed there overnight, district police have brought him here to know about the reason behind his visit and his motive behind these three killings, according to police reports.
Meanwhile, during his court production on Tuesday, locals demonstrated at the court premise and pelted stones aiming at Udayan Das.
However, after getting the man in their custody, police have started quizzing him to know the background of the crime.
