Bankura, Jun 23 (UNI) At least three persons, including a teenager boy, were injured in a clash between workers of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) at Panchasayar in West Bengal’s Bankura district on Saturday night.

The TMC held a rally of state Minister and party’s senior leader Suvendu Adhikari in the area and the clash ensued after the BJP activists allegedly shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans at the Trinamool workers when they were returning from the meeting.

BJP’s Bankura MP Subhas Sarkar accused police of resorted to firing at the party workers.

A 14-year-old boy also sustained injuries in the firing.

The BJP alleged that two of their workers were injured in firing by police after they raised 'Jai Shree Ram' slogans in Bankura.

"All the three injured sustained bullet injuries. Police said they resorted to firing rubber bullet, which is wrong," he said after visiting injured persons in the Bankura Medical College.

Tension was running in the area following the incident.
