Woman brutally raped in Mumbai, one held

Mumbai/UNI: A 30-year-old woman was raped and brutally assaulted in the Saki Naka area of Andheri suburb in Mumbai on Friday, police said.

They said the grim episode occurred in the wee hours today.

According to police, the accused inserted a rod into the victim's private parts.

The woman was found in a severe condition and rushed to a hospital.

As the incident came into light, top police officials reached the Saki Naka Police station and guided the preliminary investigation.

A man was arrested in connection with the case, the police said, adding that they suspect more culprits were involved in the incident.

Further probe is underway.
