Kolkata, June 25 (IBNS): The West Bengal State Akademi of Dance Drama Music and Visual Arts of Rabindra Bharati University presented in association with Lalan Academy Mahajani Gaan a programme of old folk songs of greater Bengal at the Jorasanko Thakurbari here recently.
GJSCI announces jewellery skill competition

World Skills International is representing the best of their peers drawn from regional and national skill competitions held currently in 67 countries/regions. Gem and Jewellery Skill Council Of India (GJSCI) is conducting four regional competitions at Kolkata, Thrissur, Jaipur and Mumbai to short-list the best candidates to compete in the Indian Jewellery Skill Competition Final. The final of the Indian Jewellery Skill Competition 2014 will be held at the India International Jewellery Show from 17th – 21st July 2014 in Mumbai where 8 regional Winners will compete to represent India. At The Taj Bengal in the presence of West Bengal Finance Minister Dr. Amit Mitra on June 13, 2014, the Inauguration of the First West Bengal Skill Advisory Committee of GJSCI was held along with a Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Biggest Eastern Region Indian Jewellery Skill Competition 2014 and announcement of the regional competitions. Famous confectioner NALIN CHANDRA DAS & SON'S on Wednesday (June 11, 2014) unveiled World Cup Special Sweet Dishes at their Rashbehari Branch in south Kolkata. Actress Priya Karfa, singer Pilu Bhattacharya, designer Lopamudra Mondal Saha along with models from Kolkata were present at the launch. Football-crazy Kolkata's food joint Koshe Kosha on Wednesday (June 11, 2014) unveiled the season’s favourite culinary trends introducing World Cup Special. The “WORLD CUP FEVER MENU†has delicacies like None the ‘Wurst’ for it, Rendezvous with Rooney, Rio Rocker, Cristiano Crusher, Nimble as Neymar, Spanish Armada, Moscow Magic. IAF joins French Air Force for bilateral exercise

The Indian Air Force (IAF) and French Air Force, in order to enhance operational co-operation and to validate capabilities, recently commenced the bilateral exercise 'Ex Garuda V' at the Jodhpur Air Base. During this fortnight long exercise, starting from Monday (Jun 2, 2014), both the Air Forces would engage in Operations based on their Operational Philosophy and methodology of operations practicing various challenging air situation scenarios.
