Kolkata/IBNS: Bengali actor Anirban Chakrabarti, who is popularly known for essaying Bengali detective character Ekendra Sen onscreen, will feature in Hoichoi's upcoming web series 'Dugdugi', which is directed by Joydeep Mukherjee.

The trailer of the web series was recently unveiled.

The trailer opens with a scene depicting Abanish's boss berating him for missing a deadline, issuing a warning. Simultaneously, we witness Abanish engaged in an extramarital affair, where the woman also confronts him, urging him to choose between her and his wife. Amidst this frustrating situation, one morning Abanish wakes up to discover his wife missing, prompting him to embark on a desperate search that yields no results.

Overwhelmed by panic, he puts up a facade to his local community, pretending that everything is fine. Only after receiving encouragement from his colleague,, he gathers the courage to file a missing report at the police station. After several days, the officer contacts Abanish to inform him that they have found his wife. Stay tuned to witness the ensuing chaos in Abanish's already complicated life.

Speaking on the series, Anirban said, "Portraying Abanish required significant preparation as it's a character unlike any I have played before. What adds to the intrigue is that this appearance is entirely new for me."

"It is a situational comedy. This web series is a slice of life drama along with situation comedy as an add-on," he added.

The web series, which also features actress Rayati Bhattacharya in the lead, will premiere on Hoichoi on July 28.
