Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has reacted to Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan's emotional Instagram post which he dropped on his son Zoravar's birthday.

Shikhar, who parted ways with his now ex-wife Aesha Mukerji in October, posted a screenshot of him having a video call with Zoravar on Instagram.

In the post, the southpaw wrote, "It’s been a year since I saw you in person, and now, for almost three months, I’ve been blocked from everywhere so Posting the same picture to wish you, my boy, a very Happy Birthday. Even if I can’t connect with you directly, I connect with you through Telepathy. I am so proud of you, and I know you’re doing great and growing up nicely.

"Papa always misses you and loves you. He’s always positive, waiting with a smile for the time when we will meet again by the Grace of God. Be naughty but not destructive, be a giver, be humble, compassionate, patient, and strong."

He added, "Despite not seeing you, I write you messages almost every day, asking about your well-being and daily life, sharing what I’m doing and what’s new in my life."

Reacting to the post, Akshay took to his Instagram story and said, "Really moved to see this post. As a father, I know that nothing is more painful than not being able to see or meet your child.

"Hausla rakh Shikhar (Have faith)...millions of us are praying for you to meet your son soon. God bless."

In October this year, a Delhi Court granted Shikhar Dhawan a divorce, citing that the senior Indian cricketer faced cruelty and mental distress from his estranged wife, Aesha Mukerji.

Shikhar Dhawan married Ayesha, who has two daughters from a previous marriage, in October 2012.

Aesha had opened up about the possibility of divorce in a social media post in 2021.

The court also authorised Dhawan to interact with his son and engage in video calls for a reasonable duration, both in India and in Australia where Aesha Mukerji resides, according to the report.
