'Bring some gold on your way back': SRK tweets to Indian women's hockey team coach Sjoerd Marijne

Mumbai/IBNS: As the Indian eves put up a stellar performance at the Olympic hockey beating the three times champions Australia, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who played reel life women's hockey coach Kabir Khan in 2007 film Chak De! India, urged coach Sjoerd Marijne to bring gold "on your way back….for a billion family members".

Dutch coach Sjoerd Marijne, who is basking in the glory after the women's team registered a spectacular and unexpected win against the Aussies, tweeted a picture of himself with the team, with an apology to his family back home - "Sorry family, I coming again later."

To which SRK responded in no time saying: "Haan haan no problem. Just bring some Gold on your way back….for a billion family members. This time Dhanteras is also on 2nd Nov. From: Ex-coach Kabir Khan."

This triggered another response from Marjine, who posted: "Thank you for all the support and love. We will give everything again. From: The Real Coach."

India, led by Rani Rampal, beat Australia 1-0 in a victory that has made social media connect the real win with that of Chak De! India film in 2007 which showed the underdog Indian women's hockey team win the World Cup by defeating the strong Australian team.

Earlier, the Chak De! India team wished Indian women's hockey team as they defeated a tough Australian squad.

This was the first time that Indian women reached the last-four stage in this mega event.

India will next face Argentina in the semi-finals.
