Fardeen Khan describes his Heeramandi journey as 'memorable', shares first scene he filmed for Netflix project

Actor Fardeen Khan made a powerful comeback to Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhasanli's  Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and recently he shared the clippings of the first scene he shot for the project.

Praising Bhansali and sharing his experience of joining the team, Fardeen added a note on Instagram to reflect on his latest Bollywood journey.

The scene features Bibbojaan, played by actress Aditi Rao Hydari, whose performance in the movie also earned appreciation from fans.

Alamzeb (Sharmin Segal) is also a part of the scene where she could be seen interrupting the intimate conversation between Fardeen and Aditi.

In his long Instagram post, the actor wrote: "The first scene I filmed for Heeramandi and the first time being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It was memorable and an exhilarating experience. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and grandiose sets SLB sir creates an atmosphere that is both intense and inspiring. Praising Bhasanali, he said: " As I stepped onto the set, I felt a great mix of excitement and nervousness. SLB’s reputation for demanding excellence pushes you to deliver your best. His guidance is both precise and passionate, encouraging you to delve deep into your character and bring out the nuances that make his films and scenes so compelling. It was an enriching learning experience, as he shared his vision and helped me navigate the emotional depths of the scene. By the end of the shoot you would feel a profound sense of accomplishment, knowing you had contributed to something truly special under the direction of a cinematic maestro."

Heeramandi was released on Netflix on May 1.

The series is about the lives of tawaifs in the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore during the Indian independence movement against the British Raj.

It stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, and Taha Shah Badussha, with Farida Jalal, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan and Adhyayan Suman in recurring roles.
