From Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki to Bhediya sequel, Jio Studios unpacks new set of projects

Mumbai/IBNS: From Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki to sequels to Bhediya and Stree, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)'s media and content arm Jio Studios has unveiled a bouquet of 100 new films and web series.

The new line of projects will be made across genres and languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Gujarati.

The genres will range from action to thriller to romance.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, R Madhavan's Hisaab Barabar, Vikrant Massey and Mouni Roy starrer Blackout are some of the films which will be released.

Prakash Jha's Laal Batti, Kay Kay Menon and Ashutosh Rana's Union: The Making of India, Randeep Hooda's Inspector Avinash are some of the web originals which are in the pipeline.

Jio Studios is also aiming to make a mark in the Bengali film industry in collaboration with Kolkata-based production house SVF.

Top Bengali actors Mithun Chakraborty, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, filmmakers Srijit Mukerji, Raj Chakraborty, Anirban Bhattacharya will be involved in the collaborations.

Jyoti Deshpande, RIL Media and Content Business president, said as quoted by media, "We are in the most exciting and eventful phase of Indian entertainment, with storytelling taking centre stage in an era of explosive digital disruption. Since its inception five years ago, Jio Studios has worked very hard to lay solid foundations in scaling what is traditionally a very fragmented industry."

"We have actively partnered with some of the best names in the business and newcomers alike to reach this day, when a staggering and exciting 100 content assets have been produced, ready to be showcased to the world," Deshpande added.
