Govinda recovered from his wounds, will be discharged on Friday: Actor's wife gives health update

Mumbai/IBNS: Govinda, who was injured due to a misfire from his licensed revolver, has recovered from his wounds and will be discharged on Friday, the Bollywood actor-politician's wife gave a health update on Wednesday.

Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja said, "He is much better now. He will be transferred to a normal ward and will be discharged a day after tomorrow. With everyone's respect, Sir is now doing well.

"He has a huge fan following so people are praying for his health. I would urge fans not to panic as he is fine. He will be back in action soon."

Govinda, who was about to catch a flight to Kolkata for an event on Tuesday, suffered the injury below his knee due to the misfiring.

The incident occurred at around 4:45 am when the actor was getting ready for the flight. He was alone when the firing took place.

The Shiv Sena leader was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

In an audio message, Govinda on Tuesday said, "I was hit by a bullet which has now been extracted. I thank the doctors and people who are praying for me," the actor said.
