Gudi Padwa is a festival of hope: Aditya Deshmukh
Mumbai: actor Aditya Deshmukh, who is currently part of the show Ziddi Dil Maane Na, says that he is waiting for Gudi Padwa this year.
“I'm always excited for Gudi Padwa as it is considered to be the new year for all of us. Gudi Padwa is a festival of positivity. It's a festival of love and spreading love and a festival of hope as well. Like everything will fall in place no matter how hard this life is,” he says.
Talking about his plans this year, Aditya says, “If I don’t have a holiday, then I'll be shooting but if I have an off this year, I'll be spending time with my family because festivals are the only time when you actually get a chance to spend a time with your family, friends, with your loved ones. We play cards, listen to music, and dance to the beat of the songs. That's how we actually spend the day. We play carrom and other indoor games.”
The festival has always been special to him. “I remember after Gudi Padwa pooja, devotional activities are done, we play all sorts of indoor games. If given a choice, if time permits, my brother and I and my cousins go down and play cricket. Others from our building also join. Everybody enjoys the moment,” he says, adding, “Coming from a Maharashtrian Brahmin family, we have simple food. So, we have boiled Potato Sabzi with Puri, with Shrikhand and Amrakhand, some salad next to it, green Chatni and lots of love from your mom.”
