Happy and proud of you: Anushka Sharma tells Virat Kohli after India's win

Sydney, Jan 7 (IBNS): After registering the maiden Test series victory in Australia against the host team, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli perhaps has got the best wish from his actress wife Anushka Sharma.

Following the series win by 2-1, Anushka took to Twitter to say, "They came. They conquered !! History written and created by this bunch !! Huge congratulations to all players, coaching unit and support staff;"

"it takes undying perseverance & solid conviction to focus on what’s important and shut out the rest . So so happy and proud of you my love @imVkohli "

Five years after taking up his Test captaincy against the same team, Kohli scripted a history by beating a weak Australia in the longest format of the sport.

Though the fourth and final Test ended in a draw, India's lead in the series helped them emerge victorious for the first time in Australia.

After winning the series, Kohli termed this moment as an "emotional" one.

"This is the proudest moment of my career," Kohli said during a press conference.

"This moment is more emotional for me because I have seen how difficult it is to win here. We badly wanted to win a series away from home. We as a team feel absolutely complete now," he said.

He said his team has achieved something which none has done before.
