Mumbai/IBNS: The first look of ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar was released by the makers on Thursday.

The series is based on the stories of love and betrayal in the lives of courtesans in pre-Independence India.

Heeramandi promises to have the grandeur like every other works of Bhansali has shown.

The series has an ensemble cast featuring Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha et al.

Sharing his experience of working with Bhansali, Aditi, who is believed to have played a key role in the series, earlier told IBNS, "I am lucky to get my dream of becoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine fulfilled. I am very blessed.

"I got so much more time to absorb from the director, whom I love and respect. It was an incredible experience."

The series will be streaming on popular OTT platform Netflix.
