Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci passes away
Rome, Nov 26 (IBNS): Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci , who is known for making movies like The Conformist and Last Tango in Paris, passed away in Rome, media reports said on Monday.
He was 77.
He was born in Parma in 1941.
His other memorable movies included The Dreamers, 1900 and The Sheltering Sky.
Winner of two Oscars, for directing and co-writing The Last Emperor, the filmmaker passed away due to cancer, reports said.
A spokesperson confirmed to the BBC he died of cancer after a short illness.
His last feature film was Me and You.
It released in 2012.
It made its premier in Cannes Film Festival in 2012.
