“To me it is not enough to recite a poem. I want to be part of the poem itself," said Raja.
"We have a rich history of recitation, ranging from Sombhu Mitra , Partho Ghosh, Gouri Ghosh, Urmila Basu, Jagannath Basu, Satinath Mukherjee and Bratati Bandyopadhyay," he said.
A radio jokey of 91.9 Friends FM, Raja is known for his style of poetry recitation coupled with photography, videography, and background score.
Calling it his dream project, Raja explained the album has seven segments dedicated one aspect of poetry, sch as ‘An Ode To Poetry', ‘A Tribute To Time', ‘Travel With Tagore', ‘Tribute To Love' , ‘Friendship', ‘Cine Poetry' and ‘Voice'.
“Raja’s Kobita Studio is an extremely interesting project we have worked on in our recent past. This is all about breaking the conventional norms of poetry and discovering it in a new light. It is certainly an introspective mission to explore and know more about the finer emotions an individual has. We all are very hopeful about the success of this initiative and look forward to work more on such fascinating subjects," said Mahua Lahiri, Director, Asha Audio.
"I never thought that poetry can also be presented in this way," said musician Kalyan Sen Barat . "It is a wonderful experiment work on poetry."
Joy Sarkar, Music Director, said he was proud to be associated with Raja’s Kobita Studio. “Most people like Raja’s work for his experimental thinking," he said.
“Raja is one person who fights with poetry on a renowned FM channel and he also creates his own poetry world through that FM channel. He can manage it because he is so keenly involved with recitation," highlighted Srikanto Acharya, singer and song writer.
