Jaipur, Oct 19 (IBNS): The Rajasthan Government on Wednesday told the Supreme Court to order superstar Salman Khan to surrender immediately thereby paving his way to return to jail in two poaching cases, media reports said.

In July, Salman, one of the prime accused in the infamous black buck killing case, was acquitted in the hunting of the endangered species case by the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur.

Salman ,who had to go to jail too in these cases, was an accused in the case along with seven others of killing a black buck and a chinkara in two separate incidents.

The superstar was accused of hunting a black buck in Rajasthan  while he and other actors were shooting for the film "Hum Saath Saath Hain" in 1998.

When the incident occurred several other Bollywood actors, including Tabu, Neelam and Saif Ali Khan, were also present in proximity, according to reports.

The state government on Wednesday challenged Salman's acquittal.

The government wants him to complete his term in the prison.
