'Phantom' earns Rs.8.46 crore on opening day

Mumbai, Aug 29 (IBNS) Saif Ali Khan's latest released film 'Phantom' has earned Rs.8.46 crore on the opening day of its release on Friday.

"#Phantom Fri ₹ 8.46 cr. India biz... Biz picked up in evening/night shows," tweeted film critic Taran Adarsh.

Phantom, revolves around global terrorism and has been shot in Lebanon, Syria, the UK, Canada and India. The espionage drama features actors Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif.

The film is an adaptation of S. Hussain Zaidi's recent novel Mumbai Avengers.

In Hussain's novel, five years after the 26/11 attacks, a retired army officer spearheads a covert mission with a team of daredevil agents to seek out and kill these terror masterminds, one by one, making sure that the assassination look like natural deaths. The best-selling author has collaborated on the screenplay.
