Mumbai, June 3 (IBNS): Actress Preity Zinta has slammed the move of being sued for endorsing Maggi Noodles 12 years ago.

"Reading the news about me being sued for doing the Maggie commercial over 12 years ago ? 12 years ago ? How does that happen," Zinta tweeted.

This comes as a nationwide panic has spread over Maggi Noodles containing harmful ingredients like lead and mono-sodium glutamate or MSG.

In Bihar, acting on a petition filed by a lawyer, a court has directed that an FIR be registered against Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta, who have featured in Maggi noodle advertisements.

Reacting to the move, writer Shobhaa De said: "I don't get it.So, should movie stars ask for a chemical analysis of products they pose for?Be it paints, noodles, shampoos, detergents, colas?"

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur tweeted: "Its not just #Maggi Those that think Diet #Coke and #Pepsi dont cause diabetes, better think again."
