Kolkata/IBNS: National award winning singer Rupankar Bagchi recorded a song, which he says "feels like my own" for upcoming Bengali film 'Onno Rupkatha'.

"The song will remind you of the good old days and take you back to your youth," said Rupankar as he recorded a song for Ratan Mitra’s upcoming film.

Speaking to IBNS, Rupankar said, "At first I did not like the track as it felt very monotonous but ultimately when I started singing, I got extremely involved and there was a sort of peace in the song which conjured up memories of my younger days making me want to return to those times."

Set in rural Bengal, the film, a social drama, follows the story of Dr Anirban Roy played by Actor Raj De who returns to his village after 26 years.

He is met with the realisation that the village he once knew has changed drastically and so has his childhood sweetheart Rupkatha.

On one hand, he tries to help his grandfather protect the values of the village against corrupt political powers while at the same time, mending his broken relationship with Rupkatha. The film revolves around the conflicts he faces as he navigates the changes.

'Onno Rupkatha' is set to be released in August.
