SVF Cinemas forays into Cooch Behar of West Bengal, takes their screen count to 32

Kolkata/IBNS: Foraying into the Cooch Behar district of West Bengal, SVF Cinemas has increased its screen count to 32 besides taking its number of properties to 17.

This is SVF Cinemas’ second property in North Bengal after Jalpaiguri.

Conveniently located on the 3rd floor of Cooch Behar’s brand new destination - PRM Market City Mall, this property boasts of 2 screens with a seating capacity of 317.

The multiplex was inaugurated by District Magistrate of Cooch Behar Pawan Kadyan (IAS) on Mar 17.

Excited about the New Property Opening, Rudra Prosad Daw, Business Head of SVF Cinemas, said, "The team is excited to launch yet another SVF Cinemas property after overcoming one of the most unpredictable and unfortunate times the world experienced, especially the Cinema Industry which was shut for close to a year in the last two years.

"With 17 properties, 32 Screens and an incredible team we’ve managed to become the Second Largest multiplex chain in West Bengal. Also, it gives me extreme pride to mention the unconditional support and vision of Shrikant Mohta & Mahendra Soni who’ve instilled in us the spirit of becoming industry leaders."

Mahendra Soni, the Director and co-Founder of SVF, said, "From operating 16 Screens, six months back, to getting stronger with 32 screens, it’s been an extraordinary journey. They have done a phenomenal job. Looking at the tremendous positive response towards the multiplex chain from different squares of the audiences, Cooch Behar is the latest addition to the experience.

"I’m happy to see that the audiences are coming back to the theatres after the unprecedented Covid times. Let’s hope that 2022 will be the year that marks the revival of Blockbusters at the Box Office and cinegoers will keep coming back to Cinemas."

SVF Cinemas Coochbehar opened its gates with the premiere show of Hollywood’s latest offering The Batman at 3 pm on Mar 17.

The multiplex opens for the public post the premier show and shall be screening The Kashmir Files, The Batman from 6 pm onwards followed by the release of Bachchhan Pandey from Mar 18.
