Kannada film actor Yash has requested his fans to prioritise their health and safety after three died of electrocution while putting up a cut-out of him on his birthday, media reports said.

In a message to his fans, Yash said as quoted by Etimes, "If you wish me wholeheartedly from wherever you are, that is the best gesture for me."

The KGF star has requested his fans to refrain from dangerous activities like hanging banners, taking selfies with risks.

He also stressed on the importance of maturity and responsibility in showing affection.

Three died in Karnataka's Gadag district on Sunday night when Yash's fans were trying to put up a cut-out of the superstar, who turned 38 on Monday.

Yash also met the kin of the deceased and offered his condolences.

On the work front, Yash was last seen in KGF: Chapter 2.
