Anil Kumble praises Indian team for winning series against NZ

Kolkata,Oct 3 (IBNS): Indian team coach Anil Kumble appreciated Indian team for winning the second Test and clinching the series against New Zealand here on Monday.

"Well done team for the wonderful performance #INDvNZ @BCCI," Kumble tweeted.

Chasing a score of 376 runs, New Zealand were bowled out for 197 by India to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match series here on Monday, day four of the Test match.

The visitors lost seven wickets in the last session to hand India the victory,

By virtue of their win, India climbed to the top spot in the ICC rankings.

Wriddhiman Saha was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his two unbeaten knocks of 54 and 58 respectively.

Among the Kiwi batsmen, Tom Latham top scored with 74.

For India, Jadeja, Ashwin and Shami ended with figures of three wickets each, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar backed up his five wicket haul in the first innings with a solitary scalp in the second.
