Anura Rohana and team win Pro-Am event of ICC RCGC Open Golf Championship 2021 Powered by Urbana

Kolkata: The Pro-Am event of the ICC RCGC Open Golf Championship 2021 Powered by Urbana was won by Sri Lankan professional Anura Rohana and his team.

The format for the Pro-Am event was Modified Stableford Points with each team comprising one professional and three amateurs.


Sri Lanka’s Anura Rohana led his team to victory in the Pro-Am event with a total score of 18 points. Rohana’s team comprised of amateurs Sajid Hussain, Mahesh Agarwal and Himanshu Garodia.

Delhi-based professional Shamim Khan’s team finished runners-up with a total of 15 points. Khan’s team was made up of amateurs Karan Samtani, Mr. Arjun Kapoor and Vicky Kapoor.

The Incredible India Closest to the Pin contest on hole no. 2 was won by Karan Poddar. His tee shot landed six feet and one inch from the pin.

There is also the Pro-Am Team Championship which is running concurrently with the Pro-Am event on Wednesday (24th Nov) and the third and fourth rounds of the Main Event on Saturday (27th Nov) and Sunday (28th Nov). The Pro-Am Team Championship will consist of three rounds to be played on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

The combined scores of the three rounds will decide the winner, 1st & 2nd runner-up. Ties if any will be broken by the 3rd round / 2nd round / 1st round scores.

The Pro-Am Team Championship will be played on the Modified Stableford format.

The first Pro-Am event was played on Wednesday with a professional being paired with two members of each amateur team competing. This contest continues during the third round of the main event on Saturday where the third member of each amateur team that played on Wednesday will be paired alongside two other professionals.

Thereafter, during the fourth round of the main event on Sunday, the fourth member of each amateur team will be paired alongside two other professionals. The main event will run concurrently with the Pro-Am event on Saturday and Sunday.
