Asia Cup 2023: Virat Kohli, KL Rahul slam centuries, India post huge total against Pakistan

Colombo/IBNS: India's star batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul slammed unbeaten centuries to power India to post a mammoth total against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 here on Monday.

India posted 356/2 in 50 overs.

Kohli and Rahul resumed their batting this afternoon from the point the match was suspended due to rain on Sunday.

Riding on steady batting, Kohli (unbeaten 122 off 94 balls) and Rahul (unbeaten 111 off 106 balls) ensured India did not lose a single wicket on Monday, leading the Pakistani bowlers to toil for the rest of the innings.

Rahul, who returned to the side recovering from an injury, played a more conservative innings throughout with his 12 fours and two sixes.

Kohli, who slammed nine fours and three sixes, accelerated after completing his half century and ensured India touched the 350-mark in a prestigious battle between the two cricketing giants.

Kohli and Rahul built their innings on solid contributions by Shubman Gill (58 off 52 balls) and skipper Rohit Sharma (56 off 49 balls), who were dismissed by Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan respectively on Sunday.
