Asian School Indoor Rowing Championship to run till early December

Kolkata, Sept 21 (IBNS): The Asian School Indoor Rowing Championship, which began in the second week of September, will run till Dec 2.

The grand finale will be held in Kolkata.

Founder Secretary of Rowing Federation of India Subrata Dutta, Secretary of  Calcutta Rowing Club Chandan Roy Chowdhury, Secretary of West Bengal Rowing Association Souvik Ghosh and Joint Secretary of Maharashtra Rowing Association Sanjoy Waldi were present at the inaugural event.

The championship will be held for three age groups under 12, 15 and 18 years both for boys and girls. 

Children from 13 states and four countries will participate at the championship. 

According to Shakil Ahmed, Founder & Organizing Secretary, the purpose of this event is to attract more children to rowing.
