CA hopes Aaron Finch will recover from hamstring injury before World T20

Melbourne, Feb 1 (IBNS): The Cricket Australia is hopeful that batsman Aaron Finch will recover from his hamstring injury and will be available for the World T20.

He had injured his left hamstring during a match against India on Friday.

"Aaron had scans on his injured left hamstring that confirmed a moderate grade hamstring injury," CA's Alex Kountouris was quoted as saying by the board's website.

"This is not a recurrence of the previous hamstring injury that required surgery in April 2015," he said.

"Although this current injury doesn’t require surgery there is a period of rehabilitation required before he can resume playing," he said.

"We are aiming to have Aaron fit for the ICC World T20 in India but will have better idea about his fitness for that tournament in the coming weeks once we see how he responds to treatment and a rehabilitation program," the cricketer said.
