Chase denies India victory, West Indies earn draw

Jamaica, Aug 4 (IBNS): Roston Chase (137) remained unbeaten as he joined other West Indies players to manage a draw against India in the second Test here on Wednesday.

Chase (137), Shane Dowrich (74), Jermaine Blackwood  (63), Jason Holder  (64*) managed to script the draw by displaying their brilliant batting performance.

Chase remained unbeaten at 137 off 269 ball, hitting 15 boundaries and a six, as West Indies ended the fifth day 388 for the loss of six wickets.

Losing five wickets for the loss of 141 runs, West Indies batsmen  managed a surprise draw as they stood on the ground firmly to prevent India take a 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

Ishant Sharma, RAshwin took one wicket while Amit Mishra and Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets for India.

India is currently leading the series 1-0.

The third match of the series will be played in Saint Lucia from Aug 9-13.
