Croatia defeat Denmark to reach WC Q/Fs

Nizhny Novgorod , July 2 (IBNS):  Croatia defeated Denmark 3-2 (1-1) via penalty shootout to move to the next round of the World Cup here on Sunday.

Both the teams fought hard on the gorund in the regulation time to keep the scorelines leveled 1-1.

The match was played intensely by players of both the sides with Mathias Jorgensen for Denmark and Mario Mandzukic for Croatia scoring quickly to keep the scoreline leveled.

However, Ivan Rakitic scored Croatia's fifth attempt which helped his side reach the next round of the tournament.
