Mumbai/IBNS: In one of the most celebrated matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerged victorious by 20 runs against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
A dominant batting performance by the CSK saw them post a total of 206 after MI won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Rohit Sharma rallied the MI charge with a spirited century, but the CSK bowlers, led by the impressive Matheesha Pathirana (4/28), held their nerve and bowled in great channels to pile the pressure at the other end and earn a victory.
Batting first, CSK scored 206 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
Chennai skipper Rituraj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube scored 69 (40 balls) and 66 (38 balls) respectively but MD Dhoni's 4-ball 20 knock with three consecutive sixes in the 20th over stole the show.

For Mumbai, captain Hardik Pandya got 2 wickets for 43 runs in 3 overs, while Gerald Coetzee and Shreyas Gopal took one wicket each.
However, MI star bowler Jasprit Bumrah had a wicketless day on Sunday, though he delivered an economical spell (4-0-27) with an economy rate of 6.75.
Chasing 207, MI got off to a speedy start with Sharma and Ishan Kishan putting on 70 runs in just 7.1 overs.
Mumbai finished on 186-20, even after Rohit Sharma raised his ton in 61 balls – his second in the IPL.

For CSK, Matheesha Pathirana got 4 wickets for 28 runs in his 4-over spell with an economy rate of 7.00, while Mustafizur Rahman and Tushar Deshpande took one wicket each.
CSK will face LSG in their next match on Apr 19 in Lucknow, while Mumbai will take on Punjab on Apr 18 in Mohali.
