Dhruv Jurel earns maiden call-up as BCCI names Indian sqaud for first two Test matches against England
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday named the 16-man squad for the first two Tests against England where young wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel was named.
He was added to the team as a backup wicket-keeping option with KS Bharat expected to take up the task behind the stumps.

Pacer Mohammed Shami, who is reportedly recovering from injury, was not named in the team.
Jasprit Bumrah was named as skipper Rohit Sharma's deputy in the team.
Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan will lead the pace battery during the first two Tests.
The spin combinations will include Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.
India are set to play a 5-match Test series, the first of which will be held in Hyderabad from January 25, 2024.
