Nizhny Novgorod, Jun 21 (IBNS): After a dismal beginning against Iceland in the FIFA World Cup 2018, Argentina will take on Croatia in a crucial match at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium here on Thursday.

In the first match of the tournament, Argentina were denied a win by Iceland as the match ended in a draw.

The two teams had scored a goal each.

The match will also be an acid test for football icon Lionel Messi as he too had failed to show his magic with legs against Iceland.

Messi had also failed to earn a victory for his team by scoring a goal from penalty.

Following the win against Nigeria 2-0 in their opening match, Croatia are now leading Group D with three points.

The match between Argentina and Croatia will begin at 11.30 pm IST.

In the first match of the day, Denmark will take on Australia. The Group C match began at 5.30 pm IST.

In an another Group C match, which will begin at 8.30 pm IST, France will face Peru.
