Gujarat beat Mumbai in IPL clash

Kanpur, May 21 (IBNS): Gujarat Lions continued their domination in the IPL as the side defeated Mumbai Indians by six wickets here on Saturday.

Chasing Mumbai Indians 172 for eight, Gujarat reached 173 runs by losing four wickets with 13 balls to spare.

Suresh Raina played another brilliance innings of 58 runs while

Brendon McCullum contributed 48 runs as they cruised the side nearly towards victory.

Both added 96 runs in the second wicket partnership.

Raina hammered eight boundaries and two sixes in the knock while McCullum hit eight boundaries and a six in his 27-ball knock.

After they were shown the door towards the pavilion, it was Ravindra Jadeja (21*) and Dwayne Smith (37*)who ensured a victory for Gujarat.

With a 51 runs fifth wicket partnership, they reached the target of 173 runs.

R Vinay Kumar took two wickets for Mumbai.

Earlier riding on Nitish Rana's 70 runs knock, Mumbai reached 172 runs.

He hit seven boundaries and four sixes in his 36-ball knock.
