I bank on my cricketing strength that help me perform better: Andre Russell

Bengaluru, Apr 6 (UNI) Explosive West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell said that no ground can be big for him as he backs his cricketing skills and strength and this has helped him take Kolkata Knight Riders to an improbable win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday night.

Speaking to reporters after the match Russell, who smashed a 13-ball unbeaten 48 that was studded with seven sixes powered KKR to win with five balls to spare, after the team faced defeat needing 67 runs off the last 26 balls.

‘’When the team I play for need big runs, I enter the arena and then a thought goes in my mind that nothing is impossible for me. This helps me to believe in my strengths and I make prompt efforts. This is the reason we could win with five balls to spare after my team was staring at a defeat chasing a 206 run stiff target,’’ he said.

The 30-year old Russell has so far struck 22 sixes in the three matches playing for KKR which shares the top spot with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings with six points from four matches.
