India beat Germany to clinch bronze medal in Hockey World League Final

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10 (IBNS): India defeated Germany in a  Hockey World League Final bronze medal match to clinch the metal here on Sunday.

India defeated the opponents 2-1 in the clash.

SV Sunil (21') gave India early lead in the match.

In the second half of the game, Germany's  Mark Appel (36') scored the equaliser.

To give India bronze, Harmanpreet Singh (54') converted a penalty corner six minutes before the final hooter.

Hockey India tweeted: "The pride on their faces is heartening to see! Congratulations are in order as Team India accepted their Bronze Medals at the Odisha Men's #HWL2017 Final in Bhubaneswar on 10th December 2017. "
