Dubai, Sept 19 (IBNS): India registered a massive eight wickets victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup match here on Wednesday.

With this win, India reached the last four stage of the tournament with victories in both the matches.

After bowling out Pakistan for 162 runs, India reached the target of 164 runs by losing just two wickets with 126 balls to spare.

Skipper Rohit Sharma (52) and Shikhar Dhawan (46) added 86 runs in the first wicket stand to make things easy for the defending champions.

After Shikhar and Rohit departed, Dinesh Karthik (31*) and Ambati Rayudu (31*) registered the victory without any further delay.

Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan picked up a wicket each for Pakistan.

Pakistan and India faced each other on a cricket field after a gap of more than a year.

They had last faced each other in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy when Pakistan had defeated India to win the title.

Earlier, Indian bowlers performed strongly in the match to bowl out the Asian giants for 162 runs.

Babar Azam (47) and Shoaib Malik (43) were the only batsmen who shined with the willow.

Apart from them, the rest of the batting lineup failed miserably in the contest.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/15), Kedar Jadhav (3/23) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/23) shined for India.
