India faces China in their first match in Fed Cup Asia/Oceania group

New Delhi, Feb 7 (IBNS): The Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (I/C) and Information & Broadcasting, Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore attended the inauguration ceremony of the Federation Cup Asia/ Oceania Zone Group, in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The inauguration was held at the R.K. Khanna Tennis Complex in New Delhi.

The Federation Cup is considered as the World Cup of tennis.

According to media reports, India has not qualified for the Fed Cup World Group since 1991.

Indian hopefuls, Ankita Raina and Karman Kaur Thandi, will be facing China in their opening matches.
