Indian paddler Manika Batra makes history, clinches gold

Gold Coast, Apr 14 (IBNS): Indian paddler Manika Batra made history as she won the gold medal in the women’s singles category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games here on Saturday.

Manika defeated her opponent  Mengyu Yu of Singapore to win the yellow medal.

She won the clash  4-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-2, 11-7).

This was the first gold medal won by India in a singles Table Tennis event at the CWG.
