Bangalore, May 24 (IBNS): Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered 8-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Saturday.

Chasing RCB's 154 for six, CSK reached 160 by losing only two wickets with 14 balls to spare.

CSK batsmen, specially skipper MS Dhoni shined with his bat as he scored an unbeaten 49, which turned out to be  a decider in the match.

One of the best match winners in cricket, Dhoni's 28-ball knock had four boundaries and three huge sixes.

However, it was Faf du Plessis (54*) who gave the side a rock solid foundation as along with Dhoni he added 75 runs in the third wicket partnership and reached the target for CSK.

Dwayne Smith (34) and Suresh Raina (18) contributed well with the willows.

Ravi Rampaul  and Yuvraj Singh picked up a  wicket each for RCB.

Earlier, riding on skipper Virat Kohli's 73, which had two boundaries and five sixes, RCB poste 154 on the scoreboard.

Ashish Nehra picked up three wickets for CSK.
