Juventus removes iconic stripes in new home kit

| @indiablooms | May 12, 2019, at 08:21 pm

Rome, May 12 (Xinhua/UNI) Juventus has unveiled new home kit for the 2019-20 season on Sunday, removing the iconic black-and-white stripes which have been synonymous with the club.

The new shirt is now half white and half black, divided by a bright pink line in the middle. The sleeves are in line with the block-color style with one white and one black. Both the socks and shorts are black as the main color, embellished with white stripes.

The removal of stripes on home kit is the first time in over a century since the club was established in 1897, although Juventus players have worn striped kits of various types in history.

"The daring new design evokes the past, whilst igniting the future of the club through the evolution of the iconic black and white stripes," the team said.

Juventus, the 35-time Italian top flight title winners, will make its debut with new shirt in the game against Roma in Serie A on Sunday.
