MS Dhoni turns 35
Kolkata, July 7 (IBNS): In a cricket crazy nation like India, where millions turn up on match days to cheer for their favourite team and everyone seems to house an opinion, it's easy to lose one's cool, but only few have managed to keep it intact, none better than birthday boy Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who turned 35 on Thursday.
The Indian cricket Team ODI and T20I skipper was born in 1981 in Ranchi.
Dhoni is the only skipper to have lifted every ICC silverware at least once.
He is only the second Indian captain after the legendary Kapil Dev to take his team to a ICC World Cup win on home soil in 2011.
Starting off his international career as a flamboyant batsman with long tresses, Dhoni trimmed down both his flamboyance and tresses and settled for a more matured image, improving upon his skills behind the stumps.
A prolific runner between the wickets, he is equally adept at using the long handle and bludgeoning the cherries out of the park.
On his birthday, Twitter was set ablaze as messages poured in.
Here are some of the tweets:
BCCI: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAPTAIN @msdhoni here's wishing you loads of success and happiness #HappyBirthdayCaptainCool
Sushant Singh Rajput: HappyBirthday Captain.A totally Selfless cricketer &a wonderfully amazing person..Respect. #HappyBirthdayCaptainCool
Dharmendra Pradhan: #HappyBirthdayCaptainCool @msdhoni . May god bless you with good health, long life & an even more illustrated cricketing career.
Dr. Mahesh Sharma: We are proud of you @msdhoni .Many many happy returns of the day #HappyBirthdayCaptainCool
