Kolkata, Sept 12 (IBNS): Two-time ISL Champions, Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) announced on Tuesday the signing of Finnish striker Njazi Kuqi, who has started his career as a footballer with FC Lahti and played for clubs like Birmingham City, TuS Koblenz, TPS Turku.

This 34-year old striker will be joining the red and white squad for the upcoming season of Indian Super League 2017.

He has played friendlies with Kuwait for Finland. Before signing for ATK he was with FC Inter Turku.

“We are glad to have Kuqi on board. He is a potential striker and I am hopeful that he will score maximum goals in this season for the team. We wish him all the very best, " Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman RP- Sanjiv Goenka Group, Principal Owner, ATK

Said  Njazi Kuqi, “I am thrilled to see so many followers of football especially in Kolkata where the game is closest to a religion. I am happy to be associated with a champion team like ATK. My learning graph will only rise with this league. I just hope to give my best.”
