Novak Djokovic defated in Australian Open 2nd round by world number 117

Melbourne, Jan 19 (IBNS): Shocking Tennis star Novak Djokovic, world number 117 Denis Istomin defeated the Serbian in the second round of the men's singles event of the Australian Open here on Thursday.

The Serb was defeated in the match by 7-6 (10-8) 5-7 2-6 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 margin.

It took four hours and 48 minutes for Denis Istomin to clinch the match and register a major upset in the tournament this year.

This was the first time since Novak was defeated in the second round of a major tournament since 2008 at Wimbledon.

His defeat left Britain's Andy Murray as one of the favourites to win the trophy.
