Melbourne, Jan 17 (IBNS): Beating Spain's Fernando Verdasco, Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic reached the second round of the Australian Open.

Novak defeated his opponent 6-1 7-6 (7-4) 6-2.

Speain's Rafael Nadal reached the same round by beating Germany's Florian Mayer 6-3 6-4 6-4.
