One has to keep emotion at bay: Dhoni

Mirpur, Apr 5 (IBNS): As the world waits to see India and Sri Lanka fighting in the cricket field to clinch the ICC World T20 trophy on Sunday, Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who will be aiming to grab his third World Cup, has said players need to keep emotions at bay in such crucial matches.

“I personally feel you have to keep emotions at bay,” Dhoni said at the pre-match press conference.

“As human beings, we are all emotional but when you are playing at a professional level, it is very important that you have control over your emotions," he said.

Calling Sri Lanka a 'good' side,  Dhoni, under whose captaincy Indian team won the 2011 World Cup by beating the same opponent in the final, said: "They have got the spinners that are needed on a track like this."

He said the Sri Lankan side has a good mixture of young and experienced cricketers.

India reached the final  by beating South Africa in the semi-finals while Sri Lanka defeated current champions West Indies to book a seat in the deciding match of the tournament.

Dhoni had won the inaugural World T20 in 2007.

Sri Lanka on the other hand will be appearing in a final of an ICC event for the fifth time in recent times. The side have not won a final in the last four ocassions.

West Indies had won the World T20 title last time by beating the Asian side in 2012.
