Panasonic Jaguar racing advance to Rome with revised driver line-up in Evans and Lynn

Whitley, UK, Apr 10 (IBNS) Panasonic Jaguar Racing head to Rome with Alex Lynn joining Mitch Evans in a revised driver line-up for round seven round of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

Alex Lynn, said, “When the opportunity to drive for Panasonic Jaguar Racing came up, I could not let it pass.  Having not raced in the championship for half of Season 5, I am eager to get behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-TYPE 3 and return to ABB FIA Formula E.”

“I have been learning a lot about the car and set up in the simulator, so I am going into the race with confidence, so that I can play my part in scoring points for the team. I will be working closely with Mitch and my engineers prior to the race to put us in the best possible position come race day. I cannot wait to be back racing in Formula E.”

Mitch Evans, said: “I’m really excited that we are back racing in the Italian capital for a second season. Last year the race was a lot of fun, and the atmosphere from the fans was amazing, so I can only hope that we can look forward to the same again this year.”

“The track itself is challenging as with 21 turns and just under 3km (2.84km) in length, which is a kilometre longer than Hong Kong track. The I-TYPE 3, is a quick car and having experience from driving the track in Rome last year, I know it suits my driving style, which I hope will allow me to capitalise on the potential we showed in 2018.”

“I’m coming into this race confident that I can perform well in qualifying, which will then enable the team to be in a strong position for the race.”

“As a team we see the European leg of the championship as a fresh chance to meet our objectives and having Alex join the team gives us renewed confidence.”

James Barclay, Team Director, Panasonic Jaguar Racing: “Panasonic Jaguar Racing will be pushing for strong results as we head into the second half of the season. We welcome Alex Lynn to the driver line-up for Rome and look forward to working with him.”

“We have a fast race car in the Jaguar I-TYPE 3, which is evident as Mitch achieved the second fastest lap in Sanya – but now we need to utilise this. The team are ready to start the European races with a strong result for both Mitch and Alex.”
