PV Sindhu clinches Macau Open title

Macau, Nov 29 (IBNS): Indian Badminton player PV Sindhu clinched the women's singles title at the USD 120,000 Macau Open Grand Prix Gold on Sunday.

She defeated Japan's Minatsu Mitani 21-9, 21-23, 21-14 in the final clash to win the title.

The match lasted for an hour and six minutes as Sindhu won the title for the third time.

Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal  tweeted: "Heartiest congratulations to @Pvsindhu1 for winning Macau open !"

Congratulating her, player Ashwini Ponnappa tweeted: "Wooooohooooo @Pvsindhu1 Awwwwww....some stuff Miss PV3 times!Wow!Congratulations "

Another Indian Badminton star Jwala Gutta said: "Wwoooohooooo @Pvsindhu1 way to go sindhu "

"Congratulations @Pvsindhu1 on winning the Macau Open for the 3rd consecutive time.Gr8 display of skill&determination.Keep it up #MacauGPG," former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman said.
