Paris/UNI: Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr' 59-minute goal secured Real Madrid their 14th UEFA Champions League title on Saturday as they beat English club, Liverpool, in the final at the Stade de France.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had a splendid match denying Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah on several occasions.

During the first half, Muhammad Salah was denied twice while Sadio Mané hit the post.

In total, Mohamed Salah had nine shots on goal and was unlucky that not even one went in.

Real Madrid had a Karim Benzema goal controversially disallowed for offside right before halftime.

The start of the match was delayed until 20:36 BST due to security reasons.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti surprisingly left Rodrygo on the bench despite his heroic two-goal cameo against Manchester City in the semi-finals.

Federico Valverde started in Rodrygo's place.
