Rio: Jitu Rai reaches 10m Air Pistol final
The shooter, who is being considered as one of the strongest medal hopes for the nation, qualified for the final of the event in sixth place by shooting 580 points in the qualification stage.
He hit six series.
Sports Minister Vijay Goel wished him and tweeted: "Congratulations to Jitu Rai for qualifying for 10m Men's Air Pistol. Make India Proud. #KheloIndia #RioOlympics2016."
However, India met with disappointment as shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ayonika Paul failed to qualify in the finals of the women's 10m air rifle event.

In another disappointing finish, Manika Batra was defeated by Poland's Katarzyna Grzybowska-Franc 12-10, 6-11, 12-14, 11-8, 4-11, 12-14.
